Empowering Underserved Communities through Shaolin Kung Fu

At the Brooklyn Shaolin Kung Fu Center, we are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the underserved Black and Latino children in our communities. Our mission is to provide these kids with the opportunity to learn authentic Shaolin Temple Kung Fu and train like the thousands of children who train at the Chin’s Shaolin Temple in Henan’s Song Mountain, as well as children from across the Henan province, other parts of China, and around the world.

We believe in the power of Shaolin Kung Fu to bring about mental, physical, and spiritual connection and enhance the overall health of children. Through our programs, we aim to address the challenges faced by children living in impoverished conditions, including asthma and various diseases that may result from unhealthy lifestyles.

One of our primary goals is to raise awareness about the immense benefits of Shaolin Kung Fu as a preventive exercise for diseases such as asthma. By offering scholarships for our classes, we ensure that children from underserved communities have access to these life-changing opportunities. Additionally, we organize fundraising events to support the upkeep of our training facilities and provide funding for competition opportunities.

Our commitment to cultural exchange is another important aspect of our mission. We aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture by organizing programs at the Shaolin Temple in China. Through these cultural exchange programs, our students have the chance to immerse themselves in the rich history and traditions of Shaolin Kung Fu.

By empowering underserved communities through Shaolin Kung Fu, we strive to create a positive impact on the lives of the children we serve. The physical training not only improves their overall fitness but also instills discipline, self-confidence, and resilience. The mental and spiritual aspects of Shaolin Kung Fu help them develop focus, concentration, and a sense of inner peace.

Through our efforts, we hope to break the cycle of disadvantage and provide these children with the tools they need to succeed in life. We believe that by nurturing their physical and mental well-being, we can help them overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
